Doing Your Own Work
It’s important to do your own work. Not only is it worth doing, but you’re the only one who can really do it. It’s your own growth, and only you can do it.
When doing the work, you have to keep your eye on the prize. In comics, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. You have to have staying power. That means you have to do your own work to build up your stamina and maintain the pace you set.
Doing your own work also means you take a break once in a while. For many of us, comics is a side job, one that you work at as hard as your day job. You take vacations from your day job, so you should also take vacations from comics. Do that, and you’ll be doing better than a lot of your peers and contemporaries.
