It’s nearly here: Free Comic Book Day!

Every year on the first saturday of May  participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely  FREE*  to anyone who comes into their stores.

*Check with your local shop for their participation and rules.

The  FCBD  website  www.FreeComicBookDay.com  has a great listing of  retailers participating in 2012.

But we’ve compiled a list of when and where ComixTribe will be on this day!

Jetpack Comics

Tyler James  will    be at Larry’s Comics in the morning, and then up at Jetpack Comics for most of the day. What does Jetpack Comics have to say about Tyler?

When:    Saturday, May 5th 10am – 6pm and Sunday, May 6th 10am – 5pm
Where:  We are relocating the show for this larger 2-day affair. The show will be held at the Embassy Suites Piscataway-Somerset located in Piscataway, NJ (minutes from the previous 2 shows at the Holiday Inn in Somerset).

  • Approximately 40 artists sketching and selling original works throughout the weekend!

  • Bonus raffle at 3:30pm on Sunday

Admission:   Weekend passes will be available ONLY via pre-order for $10.   You will also receive an extra ticket for our awesome raffles (3 total). Advance purchase your tickets  here.
Tickets will be available at the door for $10/day or $15 for a weekend pass. You will also receive one raffle ticket per day.

Jason Ciaramella, who has a book Danger Boys with Craig Shepard, lettered by Tyler James, will be at Jetpack Comics. Here’s what Jetpack Comics has to say about Danger Boys:

“Who doesn’t want to be a star in a comic?   Jason Ciaramella is introducing his Danger Boys series at the Jetpack Comics Free Comic Book Day festival and he wants you to be in a future episode!   If you are 13 or under be sure to visit Jason’s table, pick up your free limited edition copy of Danger Boys, Adventure by Flashlight and enter his contest to have your name and likeness used in a future webisode of Danger Boys!   Just be sure that you have your parents permission!”

Artist Dave Myers will be at Yancy St.  Comics  in Port Richey, FL for free  comic  book  day.


Mark Poulton   will be signing copies of  Avengleyne and A Cat Named Haiku at the AventureLand Store (Heroes United  Comic  Con) at the Voorhees Town Center, in Voorhees, NJ.

Featured guests include Mark Poulton, Dexter Weeks (Avengelyne, A Cat Named Haiku),  Tom Raney (Avengers Academy, Outsiders), and many more. Mark will be dong a reading of A Cat Named Haiku and host a coloring contest to coincide with the Haiku coloring  book. There will be a charity auction benefitting the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Items have been donated by ComixTribe, Cory Hamscher (Supreme), Joe Keatinge (Glory, Hell Yeah), Jon Malin (Youngblood), and Mark Poulton. Other activities include Lunch with Spider-Man, a zombie walk for charity, face painting, and more.
