Oxymoron Hardcover A Go!
Nine days after launching a pre-order campaign forOXYMORON Volume 1, ComixTribe publisher Tyler James announced that they have reached their funding milestone and the book is a go.
“On behalf of everyone involved with this project (and there are A LOT of us)…THANK YOU!!!” said James. “Now, having hit our initial target, and with more than three weeks left in the campaign, my focus gets to shift from making the book happen, to making the book the absolute best it can be, and further rewarding all of the backers who are bringing this book to life.”
To that end, ComixTribe has just announced a series of new incentives that will be tied to hitting further fundraising milestones, including a free book mark designed by Aaron Houston, prints by CP Wilson III (Stuff of Legend), upgrading the book from standard graphic novel to oversized, and more.
“We’ve made a hardcover happen with the support of a little over 200 backers. It would take many, many more to do the same thing in the traditional distribution model, and even then it would be a huge risk. Crowdfunding for the right project is clearly a game changer for independent creators and publishers,” said James.
On Monday, July 9th, ComixTribe launched via Kickstarter a pre-order campaign for OXYMORON Volume 1, a hardcover graphic novel collection of stories about a contradiction-obsessed supervillain. The Oxymoron, a character from ComixTribe’s maxi-series THE RED TEN by Tyler James and Cesar Feliciano, is being resurrected in this new spin-off anthology, featuring ten stories by hot up-and-coming writers and artists, including Jason Ciaramella(The Cape, Godzilla), Mark Poulton (Savage Hawkman, Avengelyne), Joe Mulvey (SCAM) and more, and is edited by James.
