You want to be in comics? The only thing you really need are some drawings, a photocopier, some paper, and a stapler. Congratulations! You’re now in comics!

You don’t need anyone’s permission to create comics.

Let me say that again, because it’s important.

You don’t need anyone’s permission to create comics.

All you really need is an idea, time to hone your creation and learn your skills, and then you’re ready to get your book out into the world. It’s really pretty simple, when you break it down.

(Complications will come later, but there isn’t anything that is insurmountable.)
