Where Does Creation Start?

I don’t know.

I wake up sometimes and I have an idea, or I’m watching a show and I get an idea off of something said, or I’m writing a column and I say something and get an idea…

I expose myself to a lot of stimulation. I do a lot of reading and writing and watching of the boob tube and movies, and I even go out sometimes and do something!

But are we always creating?

I think we are. I think we’re just waiting for the right confluence of things to collide, so that a germ of an idea can pop out. It’s then up to us to nurture that idea into something that is fully formed. And, of course, it’s only when it’s a comic is it ready to go out into the world.

So, maybe the question isn’t “where does creation start?” Maybe the question should be “what have you created today?”
